The American Petroleum Institute Files Comments Supporting LNG Exports
The American Petroleum Institute (API) filed reply comments today on the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) study on the macroeconomic effects of increased LNG exports. API’s comments, which include a presentation by ICF International, detail the economic benefits of increased LNG exports and argue that the U.S. has enough gas supply to keep domestic gas price rises in check. In addition to the ICF International presentation, API’s comments present legal arguments rebutting other parties’ assertions in their initial comments that DOE’s review of LNG export applications should include alleged environmental impacts of shale gas production.
