Shell JV Receives Canadian Federal Approval for BC LNG Export Terminal
The Vancouver Sun reports that Canada’s Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver announced federal approval of a 25-year export license to LNG Canada Development Inc., a joint venture among Shell Canada Ltd., Korea Gas Corp., Mitsubishi Corp. and PetroChina Co. Ltd. The export license is for up to 24 million tons per year from a proposed LNG terminal near Kitimat, British Columbia. The approval is a cabinet endorsement of the license granted to the company by the National Energy Board earlier this month.
