Comments touting the economic benefits of exporting U.S. produced LNG to countries without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States were submitted to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Pennsylvania state legislators and the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce. The Fertilizer Institute filed a comment criticizing the Export Study for underestimating the contributions of the fertilizer industry, which has benefited from declining domestic natural gas prices, to the U.S. economy.
