Senator Wyden Calls for Reconsideration of U.S. LNG Export Policy
According to an article in The Chicago Tribune, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) is calling for reconsideration of the U.S. policy permitting exports of domestic natural gas to countries that have Free Trade Agreements with the United States. Wyden is quoted as stating that the policy “could harm the nation’s ability to achieve energy independence, combat pollution and preserve the environment, and improve the economic competitiveness of American manufacturers.”
