Cambridge Energy Withdraws DOE LNG Export Application
Cambridge Energy, LLC has withdrawn its application to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for authority to export LNG from its proposed deepwater LNG export terminal. Cambridge stated that it was withdrawing its application because the Deepwater Port Act of 1974 does not address the export of LNG from a deepwater port and no appropriate agency could be identified to provide regulatory oversight of the company’s proposed deepwater LNG export terminal. The withdrawal notice can be found on DOE’s website under Docket No. 12-18-LNG.
