Jordan Cove Energy Files DOE Application for LNG Exports to Non-FTA Countries
On March 23, 2012, Jordan Cove Energy Project L.P. filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for authority to export up to six million metric tons per annum of LNG (292 Bcfe) from its proposed Coos Bay, Oregon, terminal to countries that do not have a Free Trade Agreement with the United States. Jordan Cove proposes that exports would commence no later than seven years following DOE approval and continue for a term of 25 years. The application can be found on DOE’s website.
