Cheniere Chief Predicts $2 Domestic Natural Gas Prices
In an interview on E&ETV today, Cheniere Energy Partners CEO Charif Souki predicted that long-term domestic natural gas prices would fall to $2/MMBtu as a result of improved drilling technologies, regardless of whether gas exports are increased: “We’re very early in the learning curve and we’re going to be able to find this resource more easily, faster and cheaper over a long period of time. Whatever we can do to export is not going to be sufficient to make any [price] impact at all.” A video and transcript of the interview are available at E&ETV.
