Officials in the U.S. Virgin Islands may consider LNG imports if the project is economically attractive. According to the Virgin Islands Daily News, an LNG import project, particularly one using an FSRU to receive and regasify the LNG, could be attractive if other regional energy consumers including Puerto Rico, the British Virgin Islands, St. Maarten and Antigua consolidate around LNG imports.
