Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. announced this morning that it has entered into exclusive negotiations with Blackstone Energy Partners L.P. and other affiliated companies where Blackstone would purchase $2 billion in newly issued securities to finance the Sabine Pass LNG liquefaction project. The press release also notes that Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. will purchase the Creole Trail natural gas pipeline from Cheniere Energy, Inc. Cheniere expects to complete its debt financing for the Sabine Pass liquefaction project by the end of the first quarter of 2012.
