Spokesperson: Sen. Murkowski May Support Change in Law to Allow Alaskan LNG Export Project to Access Federal Loan Guarantees
A spokesperson for Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) told the Associated Press (via CBS News) that the Senator’s office will evaluate a change in the law to allow a proposed LNG export project in Alaska to qualify for some $21 billion in loan guarantees from the federal government. A federal coordinator for Alaska gas transportation projects said previously that the loan guarantees are for projects that would deliver gas from the North Slope of Alaska to the continental United States.
