Bloomberg reports that Trinidad & Tobago exports about 25% of its LNG production to the United States, down from 75% three years ago.
Separately, an analysis looks at potential LNG export competition for Trinidad from other LNG export projects, particularly along the U.S. Gulf Coast. The piece specifically examines the Dominican Republic, which has traditionally relied upon LNG imports from Trinidad. However, an electricity producer in the Dominican Republic, Basic Energy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Cheniere to secure LNG supplies from the Sabine Pass facility.
