Cheniere Signs LNG Export Contract with Gas Natural Fenosa
Cheniere Energy and Gas Natural Fenosa announced last night that they have agreed to an LNG export arrangement via the Sabine Pass LNG facility. The contract calls for Cheniere to sell 3.5 Mtpa to Gas Natural over a term of 20 years. Cheniere CEO Charif Souki noted in a statement that this agreement, coupled with a similar agreement with BG, will support the construction of the first two planned LNG liquefaction trains at the Sabine Pass terminal. Reuters reports that the total value of the contract is approximately $9 billion.
