Chatham County Lobbyist Asserts No Conflict of Interest in Representation of El Paso Corp.
The Savannah Morning News reports that Lee Hughes, a lobbyist for Chatham County, submitted an affidavit to Chatham County this week asserting that his work on behalf of El Paso Corp. does not constitute a conflict of interest with the county. In his submission, Hughes stated that Southeast LNG is no longer a client of his firm and that his future representation of El Paso, the owner of the Elba Island LNG terminal, will not directly relate to truck transportation of LNG through Chatham County.
