Partners Planning LNG Liquefaction Facility on Alaska’s North Slope

Flint Hills Resources and Golden Valley Electric Association of Fairbanks announced recently that they are planning an LNG liquefaction facility at Prudhoe Bay on Alaska’s North Slope. The plan calls for transporting the LNG by truck to Fairbanks, Alaska. The Alaska Journal of Commerce reports that the estimated cost of the project is $180 million and that project backers hope to begin LNG deliveries by 2014.
