Study Suggests Shale Gas Production May Limit U.S. LNG Imports

A study released this week by the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University predicts that production from U.S. shale gas plays may limit the need for LNG imports to the United States for the next 20-30 years. The study goes on to suggest that the LNG that would have been sent to the United States may now be available to Europe, potentially reducing Europe’s dependence on Russian gas. The Houston Chronicle provides further coverage.
