Ship Owner Sees Very Tight Market for Global LNG Tanker Fleet
Ulf Ryder of Stena Bulk, a shipping company, told Reuters (carried via the Calgary Herald) that he has found the spot market for LNG tankers to be extremely tight at the moment. “There are too few vessels to cover all this physical movement [of LNG],” Ryder said. He went on to say that he has turned down contracts for LNG tankers at $110,000 per day seeking closer to $150,000 per day.
