Despite plans to increase exploration and production activities in Southern Alaska, one energy official says that the pace of expansion is not rapid enough to prevent natural gas shortages in the Alaskan market. Colleen Starring, president of Enstar Natural Gas Co., told the Alaska Journal of Commerce that she hopes her company and local utilities will move forward on a plan to import LNG within the next six months.
