Energy Minister to Review Trinidad’s LNG Sales Contracts
Trinidad & Tobago Energy Minister Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan said last week that she plans to review her country’s LNG sales contracts for gas delivered to terminals in the United States. Minister Seepersad-Bachan noted that the contracts linked sale prices under long-term cost structures but since some LNG exported from Trinidad & Tobago is being re-exported from terminals in the United States to higher-priced markets in Asia and Europe, the cost structures are “no longer valid.” She went on to say that the contracts “need to be re-examined and if necessary to be restructured.” Find further details in Upstream Online.
