Coast Guard Says No Revision Needed to Existing WSA for Freeport LNG Liquefaction Project
Last week, the U.S. Coast Guard informed Freeport LNG that the agency will not require the submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI) or revision of the existing Waterway Suitability Assessment (WSA) for the company’s LNG liquefaction proposal. The Coast Guard’s letter, available in the FERC eLibrary under Docket No. PF11-2, states that because the project as contemplated “will not result in an increase in the size and/or frequency of LNG marine traffic, neither submission of an LOI nor revision to the WSA is required.”
