Secretary Clinton Offers Assistance for PNG LNG Resource Management
During her visit to Papua New Guinea (PNG) this week, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton offered assistance to the PNG government in managing the resources for and the wealth arising from the PNG LNG liquefaction and export project. According to UPI, Sec. Clinton noted that the “resource curse” affecting developing nations with substantial natural resources could make affected countries poorer, not wealthier, if their resources are not managed properly. American IOC ExxonMobil is the major backer of the PNG LNG project.
