USCG Affirms Decision on LNG Vessel Route for Weaver’s Cove Project
The U.S. Coast Guard has affirmed its previous decision that the Taunton River is an unsuitable waterway for the proposed route for LNG vessels transiting to the Weaver’s Cove cargo offloading site. According to the Herald News (Fall River, Mass.), Rear Admiral Brian Salerno stated in his determination finding that the matter is “closed.”
Separately, Weaver’s Cove submitted a report to FERC in which the U.S. Coast Guard analyzed the potential effects of LNG vessel traffic servicing the Weaver’s Cove facility on nearby recreational boating. The report is available in the FERC eLibrary under Docket No. CP04-36.
