Speaking at a shipping conference in China, DNV Executive Vice President Remi Eriksen opined that introducing LNG as a common shipping fuel is the “single most effective move” to reduce the industry’s carbon emissions over the next 20 years. Eriksen said that LNG engine technology and global LNG resources are in place already, but noted that there is limited LNG bunkering infrastructure around the world.
