U.S. Coast Guard, Suez Address Public Officials’ Security Concerns with Deliveries of Yemeni LNG Cargos
The Gloucester Daily Times reports that representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard and Suez LNG participated in a meeting earlier this week to address many of the safety and security concerns raised by Massachusetts public officials regarding deliveries of Yemeni LNG cargos to the United States. A U.S. Coast Guard officer said that his agency is reviewing its security procedures, but added that “LNG is probably the highest security vessel that comes in to the port of Boston.”
Separately, an editorial carried by the Chelsea Record (Mass.) agreed with several local officials that Yemeni LNG cargos raise additional security concerns.
