Oregon Lawmaker Seeks to Require Needs Assessment for LNG Terminals
Oregon State Rep. Chuck Riley (D) has introduced H.B. 3616, the Domestic Resource Protection Act, which would require LNG project developers to perform an assessment of Oregon’s energy market to demonstrate a need for LNG imports. According to the Daily Journal of Commerce (Portland, Ore.), the measure would also require LNG project developers to pay for all costs associated with reviewing a project application.
