Oregon Governor to Request Rehearing on Jordan Cove LNG Decision
Following FERC’s approval of the Jordan Cove LNG project, Gov. Ted Kulongoski (D-Ore.) said that he would seek rehearing of FERC’s decision. Oregon continues to assert that it is improper for FERC to issue its conditional authorization because the project proponent has not yet obtained its state authorizations pursuant to the Coastal Zone Management Act, Clean Air Act and Federal Water Pollution Control Act. According to a press release, Gov. Kulongski’s office expects to file its request for rehearing by January 19, 2010.
