County Commissioners, Port Dolphin LNG Agree to Pipeline Route Compromise
The Bradenton Herald reports that the commissioners for Manatee County have agreed in principle to a compromise regarding the route of the pipeline associated with the proposed Port Dolphin LNG deepwater port. Under the terms of the agreement, the county would be permitted to remove sand for beach renourishment from the route before the pipeline is constructed. For its part, Port Dolphin will pay the permitting fees for the sand removal, as well as share the dredging costs. In addition, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection may accelerate the permitting process for the sand removal to one year.
