Oregon Senator Proposes LNG Amendment in Energy Appropriations Bill

U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) told the Daily Astorian [subscription required] that he proposed an amendment to the energy and water appropriations bill that would have prohibited the use of federal funds for the permitting of any U.S. LNG terminal that could export domestic natural gas. The amendment was not included in the bill passed by the Senate, but Sen. Merkley noted that he plans to propose the amendment in other appropriations bills.
