Massachusetts, Rhode Island Request Coast Guard Reconsider Analysis of Weaver’s Cove LNG Marine Issues
The Attorney General for Massachusetts, Martha Coakley, has requested that Captain of the Port for Sector Southeastern New England, Raymond J. Perry, reconsider his determination that the waterways associated with the planned Weaver’s Cove LNG terminal are suitable for the type and volume of LNG vessel traffic contemplated by the project. Massachusetts’ request is available in the FERC eLibrary under Docket No. CP04-36.
Separately, the Providence Journal reports that Rhode Island state Attorney General Patrick Lynch has also requested that the Coast Guard reconsider the findings in its Letter of Recommendation.
