Project Opponent Says Weaver’s Cove LNG Plan “On Life Support”
Following the announcement earlier this week that LNG imported via the Canaport LNG terminal has begun to be delivered to New England markets, U.S. Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) told the Fall River Herald News that “[i]t is clear that there is no regional demand for an LNG facility in Fall River.” Separately, Joe Carvalho of the Coalition for the Responsible Siting of LNG Facilities said that he believes the planned Weaver’s Cove LNG import terminal proposed for Fall River, Mass., is “on life support.” Separately, the article also notes that recently the Somerset Conservation Commission has held hearings in recent weeks on Weaver’s Cove’s permit application.
