Op-Ed: Pacific Northwest Needs Access to Greater Natural Gas Supplies, Including LNG
West Linn Tidings published an op-ed today by Ed Finklea, Executive Director of Energy Action Northwest, arguing that the number of natural gas customers in Oregon and Washington is expected to increase dramatically over the next twenty years. Finklea notes that, without LNG terminals on the Pacific coast, new gas supplies to meet demand would have to come from the Rocky Mountains and would require hundreds of miles of new gas pipelines.
