Alaskan Gas Utility Suggests LNG Imports May Be Needed to Meet Customer Demand

Platts LNG Daily reports that Colleen Starring, senior manager of Enstar Natural Gas, told the Resources Committee for Alaska’s State Senate that as the Cook Inlet natural gas fields mature, LNG imports may be required as early as 2011 to keep pace with regional demand. Starring also noted that Enstar is considering an arrangement with the Kenai LNG liquefaction facility that would allow Enstar to store gas as LNG in the facility’s tanks. [Subscription required]
