U.S. Senate Vote to Designate River as “Wild and Scenic” May Impact Weaver’s Cove LNG Project
This week the U.S. Senate voted to designate 40 miles of the Taunton River as protected under the 1968 Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, reports the Providence Business News. The U.S. House of Representatives approved the same designation last summer. If the designation becomes law, the Weaver’s Cove LNG project proposed for Fall River, Mass, would need to receive approval from the National Park Service.
