FERC Issues FEIS for Sparrows Point LNG Terminal and Associated Pipeline

This afternoon FERC issued its Final Environmental Impact Statement for the AES Sparrows Point LNG terminal and associated Mid-Atlantic Express Pipeline. Subject to various mitigation measures, FERC has determined that the “proposed facilities and the related LNG marine traffic would have mostly limited adverse environmental impact.” However, the Commission notes that construction and operation of the facilities may adversely impact specific wildlife inhabiting the area, and construction of the pipeline could have an adverse impact on property values and scenic viewsheds.
