Sempra CFO: LNG Imports to United States Likely to Increase as Global Demand Slows

Mark Snell, Sempra Energy’s chief financial officer, told Reuters yesterday that he expects LNG imports to the United States to increase as demand for LNG slows in Asia. Snell notes that “[t]he United States, at the end of the day, has sort of become the buyer of last resort… it looks like (the United States) is going to get a lot more gas than we originally had anticipated just because worldwide demand is slacking.”
