Atlantic Sea Island Continues to Pursue Project Offshore New Jersey
Newsday carries a report today on the ongoing work by Atlantic Sea Island Group to site an offshore LNG import terminal approximately 13 miles south of Long Island, New York and 19 miles east of New Jersey. Howard Bovers, the company’s chairman, notes that he hopes to hold public stakeholder meetings before the end of the year. He also confirmed that the current economic crisis has had some impact on the company’s plans and that the company continues to pursue a legal challenge against the U.S. Maritime Administration’s decision to grant New Jersey adjacent coastal state status.
