Yesterday the U.S. Department of State released a statement supporting grants issued by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) to the Lithuanian government and Romanian firm Romgaz to fund feasibility studies for LNG proposals in those countries. The statement went on to note that “[l]iquefied natural gas is part of a secure global energy future,” and that USTDA’s grants will help “foster a world market for natural gas.”
