U.S. Coast Guard Issues Waterway Suitability Report for Jordan Cove LNG Project
The U.S. Coast Guard has issued its Waterway Suitability Report for the Jordan Cove LNG proposal. According to the Coos Bay World (Ore.), the report’s author, Capt. F.G. Myer, concludes that “Coos Bay is not currently suitable, but could be made suitable for the type and frequency of LNG marine traffic associated with this proposed project.” The World also notes that the report limits the size of the LNG ships entering Coos Bay to vessels in the 148,000 m3 class. The report should be available in the FERC eLibrary soon.
