TransCanada CEO Says Gros Cacouna LNG Project Remains Viable
Speaking yesterday at the Canadian Club of Montreal, TransCanada Corp. CEO Hal Kvisle said that the Gros Cacouna LNG import project remains viable. However, Kvisle noted that construction and materials costs have increased, prompting the company to re-evaluate the project. According to the Montreal Gazette, Kvisle said that TransCanada is talking to major gas suppliers, including Gazprom, and would not rule out TransCanada’s joining the Rabaska LNG project consortium.
