Oregon Department of Energy Issues Analysis of State’s Need for LNG Imports
The Oregonian reports that late last week the Oregon Department of Energy released a report which concludes that the state does not require LNG imports. The report argues that LNG imports would be more expensive and have greater environmental impacts than natural gas transported via pipeline from the Rocky Mountains.
Additionally, Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski (D) requested Friday that FERC re-examine its previously issued Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the proposed Bradwood Landing LNG terminal in light of changes to the project proposal since the DEIS was released last August.
