Weaver’s Cove CEO: LNG Terminal Would Generate Economic Activity, Bring Needed Energy to Southern Mass.
In an op-ed published by the Herald News (Fall River, Mass.), Weaver’s Cove Energy CEO Gordon Shearer argues that his company’s proposed LNG terminal project would bring jobs and much-needed energy supplies to southern Massachusetts. Specifically, according to Shearer, Weaver’s Cove LNG would generate approximately $100 million in annual economic activity and nearly 400 new jobs. Shearer also mentions that his company is exploring the feasibility of offloading arriving LNG cargo at an offshore berth away from the Taunton River.
