U.S. LNG Market May Affect Decision to Pursue Crown Landing LNG Project
The News Journal (Del.) reports that conditions in the U.S. gas market may compel BP to consider alternatives to its proposed Crown Landing LNG import project. Although noting that there have been changes in the gas market over the past several years since the project was announced, a BP spokesperson further commented, “[b]ut the fact is, the Northeast is a key consumer of natural gas and needs more LNG to support growing demands.”
Separately, an editorial carried by the Star-Ledger (N.J.) argues that the New Jersey community ought to support BP’s attempt to redesign the Crown Landing LNG proposal so that it does not fall within Delaware’s jurisdiction.
