The Oregonian carries an op-ed authored by an environmental advocate who argues against the notion that the economic benefits of the Palomar Pipeline, a project proposed to transport regasified LNG in Oregon, would be spread across local communities. Instead, the author suggests that the profits from the pipeline venture would be divided among a few workers and the developers’ shareholders at the expense of regional ratepayers. The piece also questions the characterization of LNG as a “green” source of energy.
