Today’s Federal Register carries a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking recommending the establishment of a safety and security zone surrounding the Northeast Gateway LNG deepwater port. The proposed zone will prohibit unauthorized vessels from entering within 500 meters of the offloading buoys or the LNG carriers, and from deploying any equipment that could become entangled with the submerged buoy equipment within 1000 meters of the submerged infrastructure.
