Progress on Gros Cacouna LNG Project Slows as Developers Seek Supply
Citing a lack of secure LNG supply, a Petro-Canada spokesperson told the Globe and Mail yesterday that the company, as well as its partner TransCanada Corp., would be slowing construction activities for the Gros Cacouna LNG import project. As a result, the companies withdrew their request for the development of a pipeline connecting the LNG terminal with the existing natural gas transmission system. The Petro-Canada spokesperson said, “[o]nce we know we have supply, we can gear everything back up again.”
