U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) told the Alaska State Legislature that Alaska faces significant competition in the North American natural gas market, including competition from new LNG import projects in Atlantic Canada, along the U.S. Gulf Coast, and in Baja California. Senator Murkowski urged interested parties to come together and move forward with the construction of a natural gas pipeline from producing fields on the North Slope.
