Presidential Candidates May Have to Address Broadwater LNG Positions in New York Primary Election
Newsday reports that local politicians and activists expect the Broadwater LNG proposal to be an issue in New York’s upcoming presidential primary election. Though most expect the issue to play a relatively small role in the campaign, the issue may receive extra attention since two leading contenders, Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani (R), have track records on the issue. In particular, a top aide to Sen. Clinton has since been hired by Broadwater LNG and Giuliani Associates, the former mayor’s security consulting firm, was retained by Broadwater to conduct a security analysis.
