EIA Lowers Predicted U.S. LNG Import Volumes for 2030
In its Annual Energy Outlook 2008 released yesterday, the EIA lowered its predicted U.S. LNG import volume for 2030 to 2.9 Tcf, down from a prediction of 4.5 Tcf in last year’s report. The EIA cited higher costs across the LNG industry, particularly in liquefaction, as well as increasing global competition for LNG supply.
