FERC Hosts Meetings on Palomar Pipeline Proposal
Local residents offered comments on the Palomar natural gas pipeline proposed for Oregon at a series of meetings held by FERC this week. The Oregonian reports that a number of opponents of the project expressed safety, environmental, and economic concerns. The pipeline is expected to connect proposed LNG terminals along the Columbia River to existing pipeline infrastructure.
The News-Register offers additional local coverage of Wednesday’s meeting in McMinnville, Ore. Meeting attendees cited several concerns with the proposal, notably that the imported gas would be sent to California. “If Californians need this gas, let them put their own system in,” said one attendee.
