Weaver’s Cove LNG Plans to Pursue Site Despite Setbacks
Gordon Shearer, CEO of Weaver’s Cove LNG, told the Boston Globe that his company will continue to pursue the proposed site for its LNG import terminal despite a recent decision by the U.S. Coast Guard to declare the vessel route “unsuitable” for LNG tanker traffic. According to the Globe article, Shearer said, “We are pressing ahead. We have not given up.”
Separately, WPRI Eyewitness News reports that the First U.S. Court of Appeals has declined to rule on an appeal regarding Weaver’s Cove, finding that the project is too tentative for a court review.
