Recent Gas Pipeline Attacks in Mexico Prompt Concern Among Oregon Residents
Following last week’s attacks on Mexican gas pipeline infrastructure, some local residents have expressed concern over a proposed gas pipeline connecting the proposed Oregon LNG terminal to an existing gas line. However, the Hillsboro Argus reports that Richard Little, director of the Keston Institute for Public Finance and Infrastructure Policy at the University of Southern California, believes that an attack on rural infrastructure is unlikely, saying, “if somebody wanted to attack infrastructure, they’d go for a larger impact, like pipelines supplying Los Angeles.”
